Stephanie Plunkett, Ph.D., is a Principal Scientist in Scientific Strategy & Analysis, Regulatory Affairs for Altria Client Services (ALCS) in Richmond, VA. In this role, she is the lead subject matter expert in Perception & Behavior research and helps determine the strategic direction of the behavioral science and evidence for regulatory submissions for non-combustible tobacco products.  In addition, Stephanie leads the behavioral science foundational research program to improve methodology and metrics for the assessment of converting adult smokers to non-combustible products. 

Prior to her current role, Stephanie built the Perception and Behavior program for Altria including the methodology and metrics for current studies. In total, these studies include a new methodology for claims development, quantitative surveys with validated metrics for risk perceptions and intentions, human factors assessments, and actual use studies. 

Before joining the Altria family of companies, Stephanie researched whole person solutions for those struggling with chronic conditions related to obesity, including diabetes, hypertension, and kidney diseases.  In addition, she worked as a Human Factors Engineer improving software programs, consumer usability of cell phones, and internet services. In that time, she was awarded a patent in systems and methods for information provision (US20040131162A1).
