Information You Provide

We collect directly from you the personal information you choose to give us. In the past 12 months, we may have collected Identifiers such as your title, name, email address, phone number, organization and country. Specifically:

  • We collect name, email and other Identifiers when you communicate with us through a “Contact Us” page. We use this information to communicate with you, including to send you information about Altria Sciences and to provide you information you have requested.
  • We may also use Identifiers for purposes of detecting security incidents, protecting against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity and prosecuting those responsible for that activity.
  • We collect information, which may include personal information that you input into the search bar and/or fillable forms if you choose to provide it.

In addition, when you contact us by phone, we may collect Sensory Information (audio).

In the past 12 months, we have collected Identifiers such as your Internet Protocol (IP address) and Internet and Network Activity Data such as browsing history, search history and information regarding your interaction with our websites or applications. The automated data collection tools also collect information about the type of device you’re using, web browser characteristics, language preferences, referring/exit pages, clickstream data and the dates and times of visits to the website.

We use automated data collection tools to better understand how visitors use our website and to enhance the online experience of our visitors. We may also use this information for other purposes such as debugging to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality.

Information Collected by Online Analytics Services

We may collect your personal information from third-party web analytics services such as Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses technologies such as cookies to help us analyze how visitors use our website.

How We Disclose Information About You

During the 12-month period prior to the last updated date of this Privacy Statement, we may have disclosed your personal information to certain categories of entities, as described below.

  • We disclose Identifiers, Sensory Information and Internet and Network Activity Data to our affiliates or companies in which we have an economic interest.
  • We disclose Identifiers and Sensory Information to service providers, consultants and advisors that perform services on our behalf. When we contract with these entities, we do not permit them to use or disclose your information for any purpose other than the work they are doing on our behalf or as required by law.
  • We disclose Identifiers and Internet and Network Activity Data to data analytics providers.
  • We may disclose Identifiers to acquiring or merging entities in the event of a liquidation, reorganization, merger, consolidation, change of control, asset or stock acquisition/disposition or other corporate combination. Do Not Track Requests

Verifying Identity

To help protect your privacy and maintain security, we will take steps to verify your identity before granting you access to your personal information or complying with your request.

  • If you request to access, correct or delete your personal information, we may require you to provide information such as: first and last name and email address.
  • In addition, if you ask us to provide you with specific pieces of personal information, we will require you to sign a declaration under penalty of perjury that you are the consumer whose personal information is the subject of the request.

Appealing Rejected Requests

If you reside in a state with a right to appeal requests that are rejected, you will receive a notification with the details of the reasons for rejection and instructions about how to make an appeal. An appeal must be submitted within 15 days of receipt of the rejection notice. We will respond to you within 45 days of your appeal submission.

Authorized Agents

If you reside in California, you can have an authorized agent submit an Access, Correction, or Deletion request on your behalf. If you choose to use an agent, and the agent does not have power of attorney under the California Probate Code, we cannot process the request until:

  • The agent provides a copy of your signed permission authorizing the agent to make the request; and
  • You verify your identity directly with us, or you provide us direct confirmation that you provided the agent permission to submit the request.

Residents in California and certain other states may authorize another person, acting on their behalf, to opt-out of the sale of the consumer’s personal information or the processing of the consumer’s personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. We do not process personal information for targeted advertising.
